Fiftieth Anniversary Edition (1993) — In 1993, a special 50th anniversary edition was released in the United States by Harcourt Brace & Company. This edition included a new translation by Richard Howard, and featured restored versions of Saint-Exupéry’s original illustrations. It also included an introduction by the author’s sister, Consuelo de Saint-Exupéry, and a selection of letters and writings by the author.
60th Anniversary
Sixtieth Anniversary Edition (2003) — To mark the 60th anniversary of the book’s publication, another special edition was released in the United States by Harcourt, Inc. This edition featured a new translation by Richard Howard, and included restored versions of Saint-Exupéry’s original illustrations. It also included an introduction by the author’s sister, Consuelo de Saint-Exupéry, and a selection of letters and writings by the author.
70th Anniversary
Seventieth Anniversary Edition (2013) — For the 70th anniversary of “The Little Prince,” a special edition was released in the United States by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. This edition included a new translation by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, Richard Wilbur, and featured previously unpublished drawings and writings by Saint-Exupéry. It also included an introduction by the author’s nephew, Olivier d’Agay.
